COLOGNE, Germany: Dentsply Sirona was one of the first companies to kick-start their IDS participation with a press conference on Tuesday. The market leader impressed with its innovations in all areas of dentistry and dental technology that further improve workflows in the practice and the laboratory and simplify everyday processes, exemplifying its motto “Inspired by your needs”. First and foremost were Primescan and Surefil one—two products that promise a quantum leap in terms of digital impressions and filling treatment.

At the beginning of the press conference, Don Casey, CEO of Dentsply Sirona, outlined the company’s focus in terms of the new and further development of product solutions for dentistry: “We want to give dental professionals real added value with digital technologies that can be easily integrated and are an intelligent improvement in their routine workflows.”

To meet these high aims, Dentsply Sirona demonstrated its innovative power not only by featuring many video clips of demonstrations in dental practices showing the easy handling of the new products in use, but also in its numerous innovative product solutions.

The pioneer of digital impressions introduced Primescan, an intra-oral scanner with new, previously unseen qualities. The simplicity and speed of use was demonstrated in a full-arch scan that took less than 1 minute. The fact that the results are considerably more accurate than has been possible until now is substantiated by a recent study.

Surefil one, an innovative filling concept for the posterior tooth region, was also introduced. This robust, self-adhesive restorative material combines the simplicity of a glass ionomer with the durability of conventional composites, with the added advantage of great aesthetics.

The press conference was a captivating presentation of exciting innovations, confirming that Dentsply Sirona is on its way to achieving the goal it has set for itself: to provide dentists and dental technicians with sophisticated solutions that simplify their daily work. IDS visitors can obtain more information at the Dentsply Sirona booths in Halls 10.2 and 11.2, or at www.dentsplysirona.com.

“Crucial product developments are always made in close collaboration with dentists or dental technicians,” said Bill Newell, Chief Segment Officer at Dentsply Sirona. This is supported by cooperation with external partners—the latest example is the recent agreement made with exocad. Newell continued: “It is important to us that practices and laboratories can work efficiently with our products and experience added value every day. At this year’s IDS, we are showing once again that customers and partners can rely on Dentsply Sirona and trust our innovative strength—today and especially in the future.”

Owing to the different approval and registration times, not all technologies and products are immediately available in all countries.
