Next year, exocad, an Align Technology company, will once again bring the global dental community together for exocad Insights. Under the theme “Calling all heroes”, international experts in digital dentistry will meet in Palma de Mallorca in Spain on 30 April and 1 May 2026. In this interview, the company’s chief commercial officer and and managing director Novica Savic, outlines how exocad Insights 2026 is positioning itself as a global innovation hub for the dental community.
Mr Savic, within the landscape of digital dentistry events, what does exocad Insights represent?
Together with our strategic partner companies, we are working to advance digital dentistry. That’s exactly what exocad Insights represents: a global conference focused on digital dentistry, featuring a diverse and inspiring programme format. The concept has remained the same since 2018 and continues to be very well received by attendees. In addition to the main stage programme, there are various presentations by our premium partners and exocad expert sessions for dental technicians and dentists. In particular, the presentations offering deep insights into software applications are a key reason many users attend.
In your view, what most clearly distinguishes exocad Insights from other global conferences?
As an open software platform, exocad is the central element that connects hardware, scanners, milling machines, 3D printers, materials and components from various manufacturers. Insights reflects the global ecosystem of our digital dental world. Users, thought leaders and educational institutions—from universities to training centres—are also involved. For all of them, Insights has become a key networking and innovation event. At Insights 2024, attendees came from more than 40 countries.
Novica Savic, exocad’s chief commercial officer and managing director, describes exocad Insights 2026 as an inspiring two-day gathering in Palma dedicated to digital dentistry education, networking and innovation.
Exocad Insights was first held in 2018. How has the event developed since then, both in scale and in significance?
The event has established itself as a central industry meeting point. That was our vision when we launched the event in 2018. At the time, there was a strong desire for a unifying event. Since the event’s successful debut in Darmstadt in Germany, exocad Insights has steadily gained traction. The number of exhibiting partner companies and attendees has grown, calling for a larger venue. Since 2022, we’ve hosted Insights at the state-of-the-art Palau de Congressos de Palma in Mallorca. With the increasing adoption of digital workflows in dental practices, the number of dentists participating has also significantly increased.
How many partner companies will participate in the 2026 exhibition?
In 2024, we welcomed more than 50 partner companies. We expect a similar number for 2026. The exhibition is attractive to visitors because some partners choose exocad Insights as the platform to unveil new products to the public for the first time. Attendees can also look forward to a well-balanced mix of dental companies.
Will premium partners once again play a prominent role in the programme?
Yes, the premium partners will again be featured not only in the exhibition but also with their own presentations. Each talk lasts 20 minutes and is repeated five times, allowing attendees to attend multiple sessions and gain many new insights in a short time.
The theme for exocad Insights 2026 is “Calling all heroes”. Whom are you hoping to address with this?
“Calling all heroes” invites everyone who is already working with digital workflows or wants to get started. It’s never too late because today, any dental technician or dentist can become a hero of digital dentistry, using available digital technologies and exocad software as the central element. What was previously limited to experts is now accessible to a broad user base. We’re witnessing the democratisation of technological diversity. Everyone attending Insights is already part of the “hero movement”, often highly advanced in the field and open to the future. That makes them competitive in their respective environments.
What will be the main topics of the programme?
The main topics include multidisciplinary treatment approaches and treatment planning that involve patients more directly. In addition to restorative treatments—both fixed and removable prosthetics—and implantology, orthodontics will now be included. Guest speakers will show how these fields can be integrated and how orthodontic treatment can enhance restorative outcomes. They are top experts in digital dentistry and exocad software, which they use and demonstrate with great proficiency.
Specifically, dental technicians will receive many tips for designing more efficiently and effectively. Dentists can look forward to innovative ideas for future-oriented patient communication using services enabled by artificial intelligence (AI), such as TruSmile Video and TruSmile Photo. Of course, we’ll also present new exocad features. Anyone coming to Palma de Mallorca is heading towards the future of digital dentistry.
“For anyone curious about where the journey of digital dentistry is headed, exocad Insights 2026 is the global hub for discovery and innovation.”

For exocad Insights 2026, you are introducing the concept of a partner country. What was the thinking behind this, and why was China selected to inaugurate the format?
We were inspired by major international trade shows. Beginning in 2026, each Insights event will spotlight a partner country. This aims to foster international exchange and celebrate diversity. Over the two days, there will be surprises in the programme related to the partner country, China.
DentalCAD, ChairsideCAD and exoplan are central to exocad’s portfolio. How do these solutions help users unlock their hero potential? Our recent software innovations have focused on increasing productivity and expanding application possibilities. Now, new services enabled by AI are at the forefront, helping users maximise their personal potential.
The two-day programme will offer a high-quality educational experience, featuring lectures from renowned international speakers and exocad experts, as well as in-depth breakout sessions.
To what extent do you expect AI to reshape diagnostic and treatment approaches? At this year’s International Dental Show, we saw how rapidly AI is evolving and how it’s already playing a role in diagnostics and CAD design. I believe that in the future many of the preferred dental technologies—from diagnostics to planning to CAD design—will be AI-supported.
Will attendees have the opportunity to work hands-on with exocad software at Insights 2026? Experiencing the software firsthand is a key part of the event. Attendees will have time to test the software alongside exocad application specialists and ask questions. Exocad Insights is the perfect opportunity for users, our global application specialist team and software developers to meet and exchange ideas. The partner exhibition also offers the chance to test hardware and learn about new products.
The event is known as a meeting point for the global exocad community to connect and celebrate. Will there again be an evening event as part of the programme? Absolutely, it’s a core part of Insights. On Friday evening, we’ll gather on the top floor of the Palau de Congressos de Palma to enjoy the stunning rooftop view over Palma Bay and celebrate. The evening will be themed “exoGlam Night”. Attendees can look forward to a special experience.
The charity campaigns with uniquely designed T-shirts have become somewhat iconic. Are you planning another exclusive T-shirt campaign for 2026? When we spontaneously designed and printed the first T-shirts in 2018, no one imagined they’d become so popular. So yes, we’ll produce a limited-edition T-shirt that’s wearable even in everyday life. Exocad will again gather the proceeds and donate them to a charitable dental organisation.
What is the ticket pricing structure, and will there be an early bird option? The regular ticket price is €399, plus value-added tax, and includes access to the full programme, the evening event, drinks and meals over the two days. Since the conference language is English, there will be simultaneous translations into Chinese, German, Italian and Spanish.
We expect around 850 participants again, so I recommend registering early to benefit from our attractive early bird pricing. In 2024, we were completely sold out and couldn’t sell tickets on-site.
In summary, why should dental technicians and dentists make exocad Insights 2026 a firm date in their calendars? Those who want to succeed in the long term need to stay innovative and shape the future. For anyone curious about where the journey of digital dentistry is headed, exocad Insights 2026 is the global hub for discovery and innovation.
