DARMSTADT, Germany: Exocad, an Align Technology company and a leading dental CAD/CAM software provider, recently announced the release of PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka, which has new and improved usability features for the design of high-quality removable partial denture frameworks. The new release enhances digital CAD/CAM capabilities for partial denture design and provides simpler workflows for complex cases.
With 22 new functionalities, many improvements and new workflows, PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka advances the design and customisation features for retention meshes, major connectors, clasps, lingual plates and finishing lines. The new release also offers reverse planning functionality and improved integration with DentalCAD, exocad’s leading software for dental laboratories and clinics.
“We know that the design of partial frameworks requires an expert hand,” said exocad CEO Tillmann Steinbrecher. “With PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka, we put the power of CAD/CAM to work, helping to make the design process faster, more precise and more accessible to lab technicians who want to produce high-quality partials,” he explained.
Intuitively organised and easily customisable presets in the new PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka empower laboratory technicians to create their desired designs with their preferred workflows in fewer clicks. These individual presets can be saved for easy repetition of a complex process to ensure reproducible results. In PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka, design and editing of clasps and bars have been significantly improved. The new measurement tools Show Wax Dimensions and Cut View give the user control over layer thicknesses and connections and the general dimensions of the design. Users also have more freedom when importing parts—they can now move, rotate, scale, combine, subtract and activate imported parts for editing, create new parts and change colours.
Additional highlights of PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka include:
- enhanced placement options and libraries to add posts to the framework;
- control of the opacity of clasps, pipes, bars and the finishing line via sliders in the show/hide window, like in DentalCAD; and
- the QuickSnap beta feature, which divides all pieces of the partial denture (framework, two layers of gingiva and teeth) and allows them to be easily snapped together for finishing the design and then optimised for printing and milling.
PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka is now available in the EU and other select markets. PartialCAD 3.1 Rijeka is a part of the Align digital platform, an integrated suite of proprietary technologies and services delivered as a seamless end-to-end solution to customers.
Exocad names its releases after European Capitals of Culture and selected the Croatian city of Rijeka for this release.
