RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: The highly anticipated FDI Regional Congress Saudi International Dental Conference (SIDC), co-hosted by the Saudi Dental Society and FDI World Dental Federation, was held last week at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Over three days of enriching educational sessions, the event welcomed a record-breaking number of attendees and marked the largest gathering in the history of SIDC and FDI’s activities in the Middle East. Over 3,000 delegates participated in the prestigious scientific programme, alongside more than 10,000 trade visitors.

Renowned dental experts from around the world shared their insights across various cutting-edge topics, and 130 distinguished speakers led discussions in 143 lectures. Practical application was at the heart of the programme, and the 36 workshops attracted an additional 800 participants.

The event featured the largest SIDC trade show to date, showcasing 165 exhibitors from around the globe. These companies presented over 3,400 brands, representing the latest innovations in dental technology, equipment and services. A dedicated space, the SIDC Innovation Zone, was created to provide the maximum level of interaction, allowing delegates to experience live demonstrations of these groundbreaking products and solutions.

As part of the event’s commitment to the growth of the dental profession, the congress included two special interactive sessions focused on career development for young dentists. These sessions fostered discussion, and mentorship and networking opportunities for emerging dental professionals.

“We are thrilled to see such a remarkable turnout for this year’s FDI Regional Congress SIDC,” said Dr Ziyad Allahem, president of the Saudi Dental Association and chairman of the congress. “The growth in both the scientific and exhibition components reflects the increasing importance of the region as a hub for global dental innovation and collaboration.”

The congress provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, professional development and business networking, as well as offered the latest insights into the future of the dental industry.
