KLOTEN, Switzerland: Nobel Biocare has announced that it is adding the DEXIS Imprevo intra-oral scanner to its digital dentistry portfolio and distribution network. The strategic decision expands the company’s digital ecosystem and is intended to support a seamless end-to-end workflow from scanning to final restoration across restorative and implant dentistry.

According to the company, the DEXIS Imprevo scanner is designed to support fast, precise and flexible intra-oral scanning. The system combines advanced parallel processing, vivid colour rendering and direct integration with DTX Studio Clinic treatment planning software to support patient communication and treatment planning within a connected digital environment.

Nobel Biocare highlighted several performance and design features, including a 20% slimmer handpiece compared with the IS 3800 line, designed to improve ergonomics for clinicians and comfort for patients. The company also stated that the scanner delivers scanning speeds of up to 40 frames per second, doubling the performance of the IS 3800 scanners.

In addition, the DEXIS Imprevo scanner features an extended depth of field of 25 mm (–2 to +23 mm), representing a 39% increase over the IS 3800 series. This supports the capture of deeper preparations and interdental areas and is intended to enhance clinical flexibility across a range of indications. Parallel processing technology based on graphics processing units enables the generation of detailed meshes with higher data density and faster processing times.

“We are excited to welcome the DEXIS Imprevo scanner to our digital portfolio,” said Rosemary O’Neill, vice president and general manager for Procera and digital solutions at Nobel Biocare. “This addition underscores our dedication to providing diverse, high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” she emphasised.

Nobel Biocare and DEXIS are both part of Envista Holdings Corporation, a global group of dental brands. The collaboration brings together DEXIS scanning technology and Nobel Biocare’s restorative and implant solutions to support integrated digital workflows and clinical outcomes.
