SEOUL, South Korea: Dental implant manufacturer Osstem Implant is expanding its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities worldwide. Guided by its management philosophy of “growing together with customers”, the company is building on programmes developed at its headquarters in South Korea and adapting them to the specific socio-cultural contexts of target regions. Through these community-based initiatives, Osstem aims to improve access to dental care, particularly in areas with limited dental infrastructure.

In Kahramanmaraş in Turkey, an area affected by a major earthquake in 2023, the company partnered with local organisations on an oral health education initiative at two schools in the city. As part of the initiative, oral hygiene products such as toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed to students, helping promote basic hygiene.

In the Philippines, Osstem Implant collaborated with local healthcare professionals to provide free dental treatment and preventive care to approximately 1,200 patients. In Indonesia, the company’s local subsidiary continues to carry out regular volunteer work, including visiting orphanages and supplying them with meals and essential supplies.

In Mongolia, Osstem Implant organised an oral health campaign for local police officers and their families. Similarly, the company operated oral health support programmes for public servants and their families in Kazakhstan.

Osstem Implant’s community work also addresses oral healthcare disparities in higher-income countries. In Nara in Japan, the company donated 350 sets of interdental brushes to support community oral health. In North America and Europe, the company continues to support community-based implant treatment programmes by providing implant products.

Building clinical capacity through education

A key pillar of Osstem Implant’s global CSR strategy is supporting clinical education through its training centres. Rather than providing one-off material support, the company focuses on enabling local dentists to perform implant procedures independently. In 2024, the company conducted a total of 619 sessions of the Osstem Master Course advanced clinical training programme, and approximately 60% of those sessions were held in regions with limited access to dental care.

In India, the company supports the development of future dental professionals by offering scholarships, helping to make clinical education more accessible. This scholarship programme forms part of Osstem Implant’s broader CSR and clinical education strategy, which is intended to improve clinical skills, reduce disparities in access to dental care and support the long-term sustainability of local healthcare systems.

Through CSR activities that combine education and community support, Osstem Implant aims to make a meaningful contribution to local communities. The company intends to continue to expand its efforts to improve access to dental care and promote sustainable CSR initiatives through its global network.
