PARIS, France: The annual conference and exhibition of the French Dental Association (ADF) is one of the most important events on the European dental calendar. This year’s iteration is set to take place at the Palais des Congrès de Paris at Porte Maillot from 26 to 30 November, and 500 international speakers are scheduled and 400 exhibitors will be present.

The theme for the 2019 conference and exhibition is artificial intelligence, focusing on its influence on the field of medicine in general. The objective of this meeting will be “to provide concrete answers to the many questions we all have on this subject and to reflect together on the influence of this revolution in the field of medicine in the coming years”, according to Prof. Serge Armand, president of the 2019 ADF conference and exhibition and head of implantology in the faculty of dental surgery at the Université fédérale de Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées in France.

In addition to the exhibition, which provides an opportunity to discover the latest innovations, the conference will offer an impressive number of continuing professional development courses on subjects as varied as diagnosis of lesions of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, pain management, and infection risk in immunocompromised patients. Dr Marwan Daas, chairman of the 2019 scientific committee, said: “Continuing education is not only an obligation in our code of ethics but also a place for meeting and exchange. It allows us to continue to flourish in our practice and, above all, to provide the best treatment for our patients.”

Two full-day master classes will also be offered to practitioners who wish to improve their knowledge. These are “The treatment of gum recessions around teeth and implants” (Wednesday, 27 November, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and “Contemporary dentistry” (Friday, 29 November, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
