IRVINE, Calif., U.S.: BIOLASE, the global leader in dental lasers, recently hosted its inaugural Advancing Dentistry Symposium in San Diego. The event took place on Oct. 18–19 and hosted more than 250 professionals working in the dental field. Visitors to the symposium had the opportunity to enjoy collaboration within the oral health community and immerse themselves in education related to the technologies and techniques that are advancing dentistry today.
“It was an honor to bring together dental professionals from all levels of experience to foster discussion around advancing dentistry,” said Todd Norbe, President and CEO of BIOLASE. “The way we treat dental needs is vastly different today. It is vital for a dental professional to know how to utilize the latest tools and integrate them into their practice seamlessly.”
The keynote speaker, Dr. Gordon J. Christensen, founder of Practical Clinical Courses, delivered a presentation, titled “What clinical techniques and technologies do you really need and why”. Two other notable speakers were Dr. Donald S. Clem III, who discussed the first landmark study carried out by the McGuire Institute, and Dr. Russell Morrow from Heartland Dental, who spoke about the integration of the Waterlase system into the dentist’s practice. There was also a full agenda of papers by other prominent leaders on a variety of the most current topics, including digital dentistry, technology, ankyloglossia and esthetics.
BIOLASE’s partners for the event included leading dental companies and organizations, such as the Academy of Chairside Assisting, Align Technology, Glidewell Laboratories, Hu-Friedy, Chen Laser Institute, My Clear Image, Orascoptic, San Diego Dental Convention, Seiler Medical Division, Vatech and World Clinical Laser Institute.
