DUBAI, UAE: Following on the success of Dentsply Sirona (DS) World in other cities, the event made its Dubai debut on 5 and 6 February. Held at the iconic Atlantis, The Palm hotel, DS World Dubai 2023 brought the ultimate experience in digital dentistry and dental education to more than 800 attendees from 47 countries.

The busy two-day programme included presentations by some of the most established dental experts, as well as live demonstrations, hands-on workshops and case discussions that covered a broad range of topics across the various dental disciplines.

Gerard Campbell, vice president of Dentsply Sirona’s commercial operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, said: “DS World has always been a celebration of dentistry, innovation and the power of collaboration. With DS World events in Turkey, Spain and now Dubai, I was delighted to see with my own eyes how we have been able to unite with even more dental professionals around the world as we look to transform dentistry and maximise its impact—empowering our customers with innovative solutions that ultimately result in healthier smiles for patients.”

The programme featured more than 30 clinical education courses covering topics such as digital dentistry, implantology, endodontics, restorative dentistry and clinic management. Presentations were given by international speakers such as Dr Michael Norton from the UK, Dr Marco Martignoni from Italy and Dr Daniela Aggio from Brazil.

DS World Dubai 2023 also gave attendees the chance to experience the latest innovations from the company. The spacious exhibition area featured stands covering different areas of digital dentistry, including the laboratory, implantology, restorations, impressions and what the company calls its root to crown solution. Highlights included the medical-grade Primeprint Solution 3D-printing system and the laptop-based Primescan Connect intra-oral scanner.

“After attending and teaching at several DS World events in Las Vegas, I was delighted to join and present on the DS World Dubai stage, meeting with dental professionals in a different corner of the globe,” commented Dr Shivi Gupta, a California dentist. “Dentsply Sirona continues to lead the way in both digital dentistry and sustainability, helping dentists around the world provide their patients with best-in-class care.”

The event also marked the regional launch of DS PrimeTaper, a premium tapered implant system with a progressive thread design used to deliver lasting bone care and enviable aesthetics. Attendees were able to see the implant system first-hand, along with the next-generation ProTaper Ultimate endodontic solution, AH Plus bioceramic sealer, CEREC Zirconia+ blocks and CEREC MTL zirconia blocks.

Rajender Kumar, general manager of the Middle East and North Africa region at Dentsply Sirona, commented that the event provided a chance to showcase the innovations that are driving dentistry forward. He said: “From thought-provoking presentations and workshops to insightful discussions with peers from across the region, I am leaving with plenty of inspiration and optimism for the future.”
