Using a mixture of documentation and clinical cases, Dr Gonçalo Assis will be discussing the implementation of Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) during implant maintenance and clinical procedures used in order to maintain adequate peri-implant health. The free Swiss Dental Online Academy webinar will be held on Tuesday, 3 December.
According to Assis, biofilm causes inflammation which can lead to either bone loss or loss of soft tissue. Viable biofilm control is essential in order to limit its quantity and aggressiveness. In the webinar, Assis will discuss devices and technology that can be used in the process of implementing GBT during implant maintenance as well as procedures to maintain adequate peri-implant health.
Assis is a specialist in periodontics and works exclusively in periodontics and implant dentistry. He is a guest professor for the postgraduate programme in periodontics at the Egas Moniz Higher Institute of Health Science in Lisbon in Portugal, a member of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Periodontologia e Implantes (Portuguese society of periodontics and implantology) and a founding partner of the Portuguese Society of Implantology and Osseointegration.
The one-hour webinar, titled “Implementation of GBT during implant maintenance”, will be broadcast live on Tuesday, 3 December, at 6 p.m. CET. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
Dental professionals who are interested in attending the course may register online here.
