ZURICH, Switzerland: In an upcoming free Dental Tribune Study Club webinar on Friday, 26 April, an expert will be discussing guided biofilm therapy for the treatment of peri-implant diseases. Webinar host Ana Molina Villar will give detailed insight into areas such as new technologies in the use of prophylaxis.
According to various studies, mucositis affects around 80 per cent of subjects with dental implants, and peri-implantitis affects between 28–56 per cent of patients. The goal of anti-infective therapies is to eliminate the biofilm surrounding the implant and prosthetic structures. However, both the micro- and macro-design of the implant-supported restorations may impair the adequate debridement of the peri-implant tissue with conventional methods.
In the webinar, Molina Villar will look at the use of a prophylaxis proven to be highly effective for the removal of biofilm around dental implants and the control of peri-implant inflammation without damaging either the soft tissue or the implant components.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “Guided biofilm therapy for the treatment of peri-implant diseases”, will be broadcast live on Friday, 26 April, at 12 p.m. EDT. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
Dental professionals who are interested in attending the course may register online here.
