CHICAGO, U.S.: Hu-Friedy, the global leader in dental instrument manufacturing and infection prevention solutions, today announced the international launch of its new HD Black Line Mirrors. Building upon the success of HD Mirrors, Black Line and XTS product lines, HD Black Line Mirrors are Hu-Friedy’s latest innovation, delivering superior visibility throughout any dental procedure.
Featuring Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the handle and mirror frame that reduces glare by up to 80%* for increased visibility, HD Black Line Mirrors are designed to optimize clinical outcomes. The black color of the finish provides enhanced contrast and visual acuity within the oral cavity, creating a distinct contrast between the instrument, the tooth, and/or the surrounding tissue, allowing for easy intraoral identification.
“Following the successful launch of the Black Line and XTS collections, we are proud to be able to offer this new matte black mirror to ensure the best clinical outcome for all dental professionals,” said Stacie Barth, Senior Director, Global Strategic Business Unit for Periodontal and Diagnostics at Hu-Friedy. “Loupes and head lamps are now stronger than ever in terms of the amount of light that is emitted. The HD Black Line Mirrors reflect our commitment to continually challenge ourselves to develop unique, high-quality instruments that help clinicians perform at their best.”
The combination of DLC coating and the superior brilliance and color of Hu-Friedy’s HD Mirror glass facilitates quicker and more accurate visibility of the mouth, with a 113%** reflection factor for exceptional image clarity. Front surface reflection provides a sharp, distortion-free image:** HD Black Line Mirrors are 50%** brighter than other front surface mirror glass and 38.5%** brighter than rhodium coated mirror glass.
In addition to superior visibility, the durable black matte finish helps to reduce strain and fatigue by reducing the need for clinicians to adapt their viewing position due to unwanted shine produced by a traditional metal mirror. Combined with a large diameter handle that increases user control, HD Black Line Mirrors are an ergonomically friendly option that provides maximum comfort in addition to reducing hand fatigue.
HD Black Line Mirrors are versatile instruments that can be used for hygiene exams as well as periodontics, endodontic, restorative, and surgical procedures.
