PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti/LEIPZIG, Germany: On Tuesday, 12 January 2010, the worst earthquake in 200 years struck Haiti, devastating the capital and threatening over 3 million people. Haiti's infrastructure and communications have been shattered and, according to the Red Cross, an estimated 45,000-50,000 people have been killed.
As rescuers race against time to find anyone still alive beneath the ruins, survivors are in dire need of food, water and medical supplies. Haiti needs our help NOW! Please help by donating to an organisation of your choice or one of the following organisations:
