CLEVELAND, US: Dentists have a wide range of choices when it comes to selecting a clear aligner system for their clinic, and the options are increasingly being tailored to the needs of clinicians. According to its manufacturer, orthobrain, SimplyClear is the first clear aligner system that was designed by orthodontists, and with it, the company aims to drive the activation and successful implementation of orthodontic treatment at dental clinics.

Orthobrain announced the launch of SimplyClear in late August as the latest addition to its solutions for the growth of orthodontic treatment. According to the company, SimplyClear provides a total solution—high-quality clear aligners combined with support that enables successful orthodontic treatment and long-term revenue growth.

In a press release, the company stated that SimplyClear is not only an advanced, flexible aligner that provides optimal clinical results but that it is also part of a wider support package that aims to support and streamline the introduction of orthodontic treatment. Chairside time is reduced owing to an orthodontist-led case management service, and orthobrain proprietary software provides clinics with a patient care plan and support in the areas of education and business optimisation, the company explained.

Dr Daniel German, orthobrain founder and CEO, commented: “We understand that general practitioners don’t typically go beyond basic orthodontics in their day-to-day work. That’s why our team of experts evaluate, plan, and provide a treatment setup that works for you, your staff, and your patients.”

The clear aligner system is targeted at general dentists and dental support organisations, and orthobrain says that, on average, it costs around 30% less than competing clear aligner systems.

Orthobrain was founded in 2016 specifically in order to help dentists to integrate orthodontic care into their clinics. In March, the company received US$9 million (€8 million) in Series A funding, and one of the leading investors was CareCapital, which regularly backs dental companies. Orthobrain said in a statement at the time that it would use the funding to expand its global footprint and scale up its clinical and educational support services.
