Held last week, the first edition of the Digital Dentistry Symposium 2025 marked the launch of a new series of online educational events focusing on dental specialties. More than 4,500 participants from around the world joined the live event, which received strong support from sponsors including 3D Systems, DEXIS, LuxCreo and VOCO.
The programme featured a selection of lectures by leading voices in digital dentistry. Tim Hark, dental technician and manager of knowledge communication at VOCO, explored the advantages and limitations of nano-ceramic hybrid materials in crown restorations, particularly in CAD/CAM applications. Dr Bianca Clark, lead practitioner at West Loop Smile Studio in Chicago, presented on same-day, minimally invasive restorations using LuxCreo’s 4D digital workflow. Dr Jesper Hatt shared strategies to reduce complications in clear aligner treatment planning, based on his experience with more than 1,700 clinics worldwide. Germen Versteeg, denturist, dental technician and founder of Dutch laboratory and clinic DTL Mediaan, outlined a practical roadmap for transitioning from traditional to digital denture fabrication.

Recordings of all sessions are now available on demand for dental professionals who were unable to attend the live event or wish to revisit the content.
The symposium served as a strong foundation for the new digital education series, which will continue later this year with a focus on other specialties. The next instalment, the Implants Symposium 2025, will take place on 17 October and will offer in-depth coverage of surgical innovations, prosthetic techniques, biologics and digital workflows in implantology. The event is aimed at implantologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists and prosthodontists.
