KOBLACH, Austria: This year, Amann Girrbach is celebrating two anniversaries at once: 15 years of zirconia production at its Austrian production site and ten years of Zolid. As one of the leading zirconia manufacturers, the company is marking these important milestones by providing customers with a ten-year warranty on all Zolid materials—effective immediately—and by hosting various webinars on zirconia throughout the year under the hashtag #nosurprisezirconia.
It was 15 years ago that Amann Girrbach produced its first zirconia blocks for the fabrication of dentures, and ten years ago the company launched the globally successful Zolid brand. Amann Girrbach was one of the first companies to start manufacturing zirconia, and it introduced the Zolid brand just five years later owing to rising demand for the aesthetic restoration material and the desire for increased cost-effectiveness and process reliability. With Zolid, CAD/CAM blanks that achieved high aesthetics without requiring complex veneering processes were available to users for the first time.
Since then, the company has been continuously developing materials and processing methods. Meanwhile, blanks such as the Zolid Gen-X, which has integrated colour gradients in 16 VITA shades, allow for lifelike restorations. In addition to their excellent aesthetic properties and outstanding mechanical values, they prove convincing owing to a diversity of indications and long-term clinical success. In the context of quality assurance, only the best raw materials are processed using the strictest test methods and certified processes. To give an example, Amann Girrbach is one of the first dental companies to be certified in accordance with the European Union’s new medical device regulation (MDR), thus supporting users in complying with MDR obligations.
“[We] are taking this opportunity to underline our quality promise with a ten-year warranty on all Zolid materials”
Melanie Röschmann, director of Amann Girrbach’s global consumables business unit, commented: “This year, we are celebrating two special anniversaries that once again demonstrate that we at Amann Girrbach are constantly driving the boundaries of technical possibilities forwards. At the same time, we are taking this opportunity to underline our quality promise with a ten-year warranty on all Zolid materials.” Röschmann was delighted to announce that Amann Girrbach will be hosting a new series of webinars on the topic of working with zirconia this year. “We view ourselves as a holistic system provider and support our customers along the entire customer journey. With this in mind, we will also be focusing more on training and education regarding zirconia in the coming years,” she said.
