COLOGNE, Germany: Amann Girrbach says that going digital in dentistry is now more important than ever. At IDS 2021, the company is exhibiting its latest solutions that digitise and streamline the flow of information between dental clinics and laboratories. Using what Amann Girrbach describes as a total ecosystem, practitioners can share data and collaborate more effectively than ever before, according to the company.

Wolfgang Reim, CEO of Amann Girrbach, opened the press conference by speaking about the increasing importance of digitalisation in dentistry. Reim explained that the company, which has a long history and proudly manufactures all of its products and solutions in Austria, has applied a strategic rethinking to dental workflows. Years in the making, the new solutions harness the latest technological capabilities and equip practitioners with the tools to streamline planning and treatment and provide better treatment outcomes, Reim said.

“What have we brought with us to IDS 2021? Workflows, workflows, workflows”

The latest innovations from Amann Girrbach include the modular Ceramill Direct Restoration Solution, which includes an extended Ceramill CAD/CAM workflow, the Ceramill Matik processing unit, and the extensive digital communication and case management platform AG.Live. According to Reim, the solutions provide dental professionals with more choices and instant modes of communication and bridge the disciplinary gap between dental clinics and laboratories so that both sides can contribute their core competencies and provide the best possible restorations. “We are back again,” Reim emphasised.

Falko Noack, head of research and development at Amann Girrbach, took to the podium to emphasise the importance of digitisation during the pandemic and to underscore the importance of digital communication between collaborating parties in the dental field. “What have we brought with us to IDS 2021? Workflows, workflows, workflows,” Noack stressed.

“The more complex the restoration, the more important it becomes to have the right workflow,” Noack added.
