Intermezzo Implant

Megagen has a narrow one piece implant, called the Intermezzo. It comes in 2.5 and 3.1 diameters and is an effective solution for congenitally missing laterals and lower anteriors. It has a bendable neck (can angle it up to 15 degrees), and surgeons who have placed Nobel one piece implants have told me that the Nobel drivers would constantly strip. I’ve also been told that the Zimmer one piece implant has an abutment which is too short.

The Intermezzo implant is very easy to restore. You can place the implant and then the restoring doctor just has to make a feathered edge, take an impression, and send it off to the lab. The results are amazing. We’ve used this in cases where there was no other alternative, we were unsure of the outcome, and the stability and integration were both excellent.
