LANGENAU, Germany: COLTENE has announced the launch of HyFlex K-Files. Designed for manual canal scouting and initial preparation, these new files give clinicians tactile feedback on canal anatomy, such as curvature, and possible calcification.

Integrating manual scouting into the HyFlex workflow

HyFlex K-Files are used at the start of controlled root canal preparation. Made from twisted stainless steel, the flexible files are designed to give clinicians tactile control during this manual stage and help them assess canal conditions before motor-driven instrumentation.

By integrating seamlessly into the HyFlex endodontic workflow, HyFlex K-Files support a smooth transition from scouting to motor-driven shaping. Together with COLTENE’s comprehensive restorative product portfolio, the HyFlex product family forms part of a seamless workflow from endodontic treatment to restoration, enhancing the clinician’s experience.

Supporting early treatment decisions

“HyFlex K-Files add an essential manual starting point to the endodontic treatment workflow, enabling clinicians to perform the entire canal preparation procedure using the HyFlex product family,” said Franziska Vahl, product manager for endodontics at COLTENE. “The files are designed to instil confidence in clinicians by indicating case complexity at an early stage and helping them select the optimal shaping sequence while minimising mechanical stress during initial instrumentation.”

HyFlex K-Files are supplied in blister packs of six pre-sterilised files and are available in ISO sizes 06–45 and lengths of 21, 25 and 31 mm. These options allow practitioners to select the appropriate file for the individual case. Further product information can be found in the COLTENE online catalogue.

The company also offers workshops and online continuing education through its academy. Dental professionals can find case studies and tips for clinical application on the company’s social media channels. More information can be found at www.coltene.com.
