CHARLOTTE, N.C., US: Dentsply Sirona has integrated the VDW brand into its corporate identity as part of a branding update intended to create greater clarity across its portfolio. To reflect the unified identity, VDW branding now includes the endorsement line “A brand of Dentsply Sirona” across marketing, communication and packaging. The visual design of the packaging remains unchanged.

As part of the transition, content from the VDW website will be gradually transferred to the Dentsply Sirona website. Once the migration is complete, the VDW website will be closed and redirected. According to the company, the change is intended to simplify brand communication for customers and partners, but the rebranding will not affect the availability of VDW products, which will continue to be offered as part of the company’s endodontic portfolio.

“This brand alignment is purely about clarity and consistency,” said Arjan de Roy, group vice-president of essential dental solutions at Dentsply Sirona. “Our customers can feel confident that bringing the VDW brand into the Dentsply Sirona brand further strengthens the exceptional quality, product innovation and trusted support they’ve come to rely on—something we believe we have again demonstrated with the development of the VDW endo motor X-Smart Pro+” he added.

Consistent quality across established manufacturing sites

According to Dentsply Sirona, production continues under the company’s trusted manufacturing and quality assurance systems. The company operates facilities in Germany, Switzerland and the US and produces more than 140 million endodontic instruments annually. Over three million quality control checks are conducted each year across its sites.

“I’ve always trusted VDW for its commitment to the endodontic profession and the strong relationships it has developed with endodontists,” said German endodontist Dr Christoph Zirkel. “Now, with its brand integration into Dentsply Sirona, I’m excited for the possibilities and confident we will benefit from a unified portfolio, expanded clinical education opportunities and even stronger support backed by global resources of the company,” he added.

Focus on evidence and education

Dentsply Sirona emphasised that clinical evidence is central to its endodontic portfolio. Its reciprocating motion systems, including WaveOne and RECIPROC, are supported by more than 1,200 published studies. Additionally, education continues to be a key component of the company’s activities: more than 2,000 endodontic education programmes are delivered globally each year, including training related to VDW products.

According to Dentsply Sirona, the unified branding reflects its ongoing focus on evidence-based solutions, innovation and clinical education in endodontics. More information about Dentsply Sirona’s endodontic portfolio can be found on the specialty pages.
