SCHAAN, Liechtenstein: Dental treatment can significantly improve oral health, function and aesthetics. The new Ivoclar Smile Award recognises such treatment outcomes and the dental professionals who deliver them. The award will acknowledge clinicians who apply their skills and innovative approaches to achieve high-quality smile restorations worldwide.
The Ivoclar Smile Award highlights the often-unseen aspects of clinical excellence, including the precision and attention to detail that help foster patient confidence. The competition offers a platform to showcase creativity and high-quality outcomes and provides opportunities to network with international colleagues, learn from experts and exchange professional knowledge.
Vincent Fehmer, master dental technician from Lausanne in Switzerland and member of the award jury, explained: “Taking part is what really counts—because simply by submitting your work, you will reflect on its quality, strengthen excellence in your daily practice and take your skills to the next level.”
Two categories, one goal
Dental professionals range widely in experience. To account for this, the Ivoclar Smile Award 2026 for clinical work with IPS e.max materials will be presented in two categories:
- The “Proven Masters” category acknowledges experienced teams of dental technicians and dentists for complex restorations that demonstrate a high level of aesthetic quality.
- The “Rising Stars” category recognises emerging talents in dental technology under the age of 30 who demonstrate a high standard of precision in their daily laboratory work.
Entries will be evaluated by an international panel of experts in dental technology and dentistry. Key criteria include clinical complexity, aesthetic implementation, material selection and documented patient satisfaction.
Focus on IPS e.max
The Ivoclar Smile Award 2026 centres on the IPS e.max range of materials. It has set benchmarks in aesthetics, durability and minimally invasive treatment concepts for more than 20 years. IPS e.max demonstrates a clinical survival rate of over 95% after up to 17 years, underscoring its proven reliability and long-lasting aesthetic results. Whether experienced professionals or emerging talents, dental technicians and dentists are invited to submit IPS e.max cases that illustrate a high standard of craftsmanship in clinical practice.
