ASTANA, Kazakhstan: In September, MegaGen hosted the 2026 Eurasia Scientific Meeting in Astana, convening around 230 dental professionals from Kazakhstan and neighbouring countries. The event provided a regional platform for clinical knowledge exchange and marked a further step in MegaGen’s efforts to expand academic networks and engagement in the region.

Held under the theme “Revolutionary advances on full mouth restorations with immediate implants”, the meeting combined presentations by international and local clinicians with the introduction of MegaGen products to the local market. Among the speakers was Dr Marcus Engelschalk, an oral surgeon from Germany, who discussed immediate implant placement at molar sites, focusing on treatment planning based on extraction socket conditions and strategies for achieving primary stability. Dr Engelschalk also discussed MegaGen’s IW Classification, a framework for assessing molar extraction sites before immediate implant placement.

Prof. Vygandas Rutkūnas, a prosthodontist at Vilnius University in Lithuania, presented digital full-mouth treatment protocols incorporating the BLUEDIAMOND IMPLANT and the AXA abutment. His presentation covered immediate implant placement and early loading.

Among the speakers from Kazakhstan, implantologist Dr Bekzhan Omeshbayev presented a fully digital protocol for rehabilitating partially and completely edentulous patients. Oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr Temirlan Berkaliev discussed implant placement and soft-tissue grafting in the aesthetic zone. The local presentations also included clinical cases involving the AnyOne and AnyRidge implant systems.

Four products introduced to the Kazakhstan market

The meeting marked the Kazakhstan launch of MegaGen’s BLUEDIAMOND, BD Cuff and ARi implant systems, as well as the AXA abutment. The company also presented clinical solutions combining its implant systems and digital technologies to address a range of treatment challenges:

  • accelerated loading approaches across different bone densities;
  • implant treatment in cases involving insufficient bone volume or challenging ridge conditions; and
  • digital workflows extending from diagnosis and treatment planning to provisional restoration in full-mouth rehabilitation.

The 2026 Eurasia Scientific Meeting marked the Kazakhstan launch of MegaGen’s BlueDiamond, BD Cuff and ARi dental implant systems, as well as the AXA abutment.

The meeting also featured the New Toronto Declaration, first presented at the 19th MegaGen International Symposium in Toronto in Canada in June. The declaration outlines clinical principles emphasising anchorage in stable basal bone, the achievement of primary stability through implant design and appropriate surgical protocols, and patient-centred, minimally invasive treatment approaches.

Networking activities alongside the scientific programme provided opportunities for participants to exchange experiences with international speakers and colleagues from across the region. According to MegaGen, the 2026 Eurasia Scientific Meeting aimed to strengthen academic relationships and build closer connections with dental professionals throughout Central Asia.

The 20th MegaGen International Symposium will take place on 16 and 17 April 2027 in Shanghai in China. It will address immediate implant treatment protocols and management of peri-implantitis.
