ZURICH, Switzerland: After careful consideration and monitoring of the ongoing spread of the virus SARS-CoV-2, Nobel Biocare has decided to postpone its 2020 Global Symposium, which was originally scheduled for 16–18 April in Las Vegas in the US. The symposium is now scheduled for early 2021. The company will communicate the new date and location as soon as details are available.

The unprecedented circumstances presented by COVID-19, the increasing health and safety concerns, as well as the current travel restrictions, have made it impossible to hold a global event like the Nobel Biocare Global Symposium at this time. The company believes that this decision is in the best interests of the health, safety and well-being of its customers, employees and business partners.

For those who have already registered, registrations will be automatically transferred and will become valid for the 2021 event. In case participants wish to cancel their attendance, Nobel Biocare has relaxed its original cancellation policy and will refund registration fees in full. The company urges participants who have already made travel arrangements to expedite hotel and flight cancellations.

Nobel Biocare remains committed to helping dentists advance at every level. Because education is an essential tool in achieving this goal, the company will host a series of virtual educational sessions from 16 to 18 April and make them available to all those who had registered for the symposium. Details about access to these virtual educational sessions will be communicated soon.

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at John Hopkins University as of 24 March, a total of 46,450 cases of COVID-19 and 593 associated deaths had been confirmed in the US.
