LOS ANGELES, US: SprintRay has announced the launch of the Midas World Tour, a global series of hands-on educational events developed in collaboration with GC America, Align Technology and Meisinger Dental. Designed to support the adoption of chairside 3D-printed restorative solutions, the programme is set to begin this month and span more than 30 cities worldwide.
The programme will provide clinicians with practical training in chairside workflows for single- and multi-unit restorations produced on the Midas Digital Press. According to the company, the collaboration brings together scanning, additive manufacturing, materials science, preparation and finishing within a same-day digital restorative workflow.
In this workflow, Align Technology’s iTero intra-oral scanners provide the digital restorative scans that form the basis of treatment planning. SprintRay then converts the scan data into restorations through its artificial intelligence-powered design studio and the Midas capsule-based 3D-printing system. GC America contributes its expertise in restorative materials, while Meisinger Dental supports preparation of the natural tooth structure and finishing of 3D-printed restorations with dedicated rotary instruments.

The clinical backbone of the education tour is powered by MOD Institute, an evidence-based educational centre specialising in in-office 3D printing and additive manufacturing. Dr Wally Renne, founder of the MOD Institute emphasised: “3D printing isn’t the future. It’s right now. The clinicians who master these workflows today will influence the next decade.
