PALMA DE MALLORCA, Spain: Dental professionals have converged on the historic city of Palma for what promises to be a highlight of this year’s dental calendar. The three-day MIS Global Conference has officially begun, bringing together more than 1,500 attendees from over 50 countries. What awaits them is a comprehensive program that combines top-tier scientific content with robust networking opportunities and the latest developments from the world of dental implantology.

Taking place at the Palma Convention Centre, the scientific conference is showcasing MIS ’s holistic 360° approach to implantology by addressing all aspects of clinical needs. Over the coming days, attendees will delve into the latest trends in the field, focusing on key topics such as bone regeneration techniques, managing biological complications, ensuring tissue stability and optimising digital workflows in daily practice. According to the organisers, the diverse programme is aimed at providing general dentists and implantologists with a well-rounded understanding of modern implantology practices.

From the successes of the event’s four previous editions, MIS Implants Technologies has learned that clinical advancement is boosted by community building within the dental implant industry. This year’s congress thus began with an informal networking event yesterday at the Pueblo Español Mallorca, an expansive open-air museum that provided an immersive introduction to Mallorca’s rich cultural heritage and an ideal backdrop for casual discussions. The congress was officially opened this morning by the welcome notes of Alon Sadan, vice president and general manager of MIS, and Tony Susino, group vice president of global implant and prosthetic solutions at Dentsply Sirona, who heralded a new era in dental implantology being driven by the partnership between the two companies.

Susino paid tribute to the founders of MIS, commenting: “It is hard to make it simple, so what MIS has done is very special.” He said that the integration of the two companies had been transformative, leading to 2023 being the biggest sales year in the history of MIS.

“This is the right time, at the right place, with the right people, and the best is yet to come!”

Hinting at what was in store for attendees in Palma, Susino pointed out that MIS will launch a new implant line that will take the dental implant business to the next level. “I think you will be excited about what it can do for your practice, Susino said, adding: “This is the right time, at the right place, with the right people, and the best is yet to come!”

A key highlight of the event will be a live surgery on Saturday showcasing the guided placement of six implants by Dr Stavros Pelekanos, performed from his clinic in Greece. Moderated by well-regarded clinicians Profs. Nitzan Bichacho and Marco Degidi, the session will demonstrate the use of the stackable surgical guide and emphasise the company’s commitment to cutting-edge techniques.

The MIS Global Conference also includes a highly anticipated clinical case competition aimed at nurturing the next generation of dental implantologists, and even more opportunities for attendees to connect with their peers and create lasting memories.
