3D-printing expo Formnext 2026 names UK as partner country

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany: The organisers of the Formnext 3D-printing expo and convention have named the UK as the partner country of this year’s edition. The event will take place from 17 to 20 November in Frankfurt, and some 800 exhibitors and 38,000 visitors are expected. Exhibitors are being encouraged to complete their registration by 2 March to qualify for an early bird discount. Since Formnext has previously highlighted the dental industry as an additive manufacturing success story, the organisers are likely to see continued interest from related exhibitors.

Sascha F. Wenzler, vice-president of Formnext at the trade fair organiser Mesago Messe Frankfurt, explained in a press release that the UK was selected owing to its leading additive manufacturing industry, which is supported by a robust infrastructure of systems, software and industrial applications. He said that its success is being driven by close ties with the local manufacturing industry and by the presence of established manufacturers and innovative startup companies. Josh Dugdale, head of the Additive Manufacturing UK trade association, confirmed that the UK has taken on a leadership role. He said that the areas of strength in the local industry include research, materials, machine development, software, and high-value applications across the aerospace, defence, energy and healthcare industries.

In the lead-up to last year’s tenth anniversary edition of Formnext, Mesago Messe Frankfurt published a white paper on additive manufacturing in the dental industry. The authors attributed the broad adoption of additive manufacturing in dental workflows and technologies to the dental industry’s unique requirement for efficiently produced complex and customised structures. Formnext 2026 aims to once again provide a platform for the breadth of dental additive manufacturing applications through its exhibition and supporting programme of expert presentations, themed forums and networking opportunities.
