COPENHAGEN, Denmark: In October, Danish digital technology specialist 3Shape launched TRIOS 3 Mono, a new entry-level version of its award-winning TRIOS 3 intra-oral scanner. The new scanner delivers intra-oral impressions of the same quality of other TRIOS scanners, but captures them without colour. This allows 3Shape to offer the product at a competitive price—nearly 40 per cent lower than that of the colour models.
The TRIOS 3 Mono is upgradable to a TRIOS 3 colour model at any time. The cost of the upgrade is the price difference between the two scanners and the service fee. Upgrading to a TRIOS colour model includes RealColor scanning, digital shade measurement and an integrated intra-oral camera.
“Doctors are definitely looking to go digital with their dentistry. There are just too many documented advantages to ignore. To make the jump easier, we created an intraoral scanner they can start and keep growing with, one that doesn’t compromise speed and accuracy or use powder,” said 3Shape President and CEO Flemming Thorup.
As some TRIOS models may not be available in every country, dentists are advised to consult with their local reseller for more information.
