COLOGNE, Germany: From 23 to 25 April 2026, Vienna will host the International Osteology Symposium, bringing together dental professionals from around the world to explore the latest in regenerative therapies. To be held under the theme “Beyond Regeneration”, the event expects at least 3,000 participants and nearly 100 prominent speakers from over 80 countries.

At a press conference during the International Dental Show 2025, Dr Christer Dahlin, president of the Osteology Foundation, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing oral tissue regeneration through cutting-edge research, education and collaboration. “One of my main priorities as president was to bring in the younger generation and foster greater gender balance,” he said. Asked why dental professionals should attend the symposium, he responded: “If you’re interested in oral tissue rehabilitation, this is the number one event to attend.”

The scientific programme features recorded live surgeries, expert-led workshops and clinical round-tables discussions covering topics such as flap management, bone regeneration and digital workflows. The programme has been curated by the symposium chairs, Dr Lisa Heitz-Mayfield from Australia and Prof. Anton Sculean from Switzerland.

A dedicated Next Gen track will support emerging specialists with tailored sessions, mentorship and the Osteology Case Session and Competition. Notably, over 36% of the speakers will be first-time presenters.

Beyond education, the event will offer unmatched networking through Osteology Night and a new social forum in the exhibition area—creating space for collaboration and idea exchange.

Offering a blend of scientific excellence, innovation and interactivity, the 2026 International Osteology Symposium is set to raise the bar for education in regenerative dentistry.
