BARCELONA, Spain: The International Osteology Symposium is currently being held for the next three days under the theme “THE NEXT REGENERATION” and is showcasing the latest developments in techniques and technologies in oral tissue regeneration. This year, the triennial congress is being held at the Barcelona International Convention Centre. Attendees will be able to delve intensively into the current status of research in implant dentistry and regenerative therapies and will gain an insight into what the future holds regarding innovative techniques and materials.

The theme combines the Osteology Foundation’s focal points for the 2019 symposium: on the one hand, the next generation of regenerative therapies, that is the latest developments in techniques and technologies; and on the other hand, the next generation of dentists, not only attendees of the programme but also upcoming experts in the field of oral tissue regeneration.

Visitors to the symposium can enjoy a variety of practical workshops, poster presentations and an extensive scientific programme featuring 107 international speakers and dealing with a range of topics, as well as an industry exhibition. The symposium further offers the opportunity to network with peers from all over the world at the Osteology 80s Night on Friday at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya [national museum of Catalan visual art].

At the NEXT REGENERATION corner, located in the exhibition hall, participants will have the opportunity to meet the congress speakers and to ask questions about their presentations or general questions about daily life in their practice. Although the general congress language is English, some lectures will be interpreted into Spanish, German or Russian.

A new addition is the Osteology Case Session, for which oral regenerative cases in six competition categories were submitted and the best selected for oral presentations in this session, allowing more clinicians to actively participate in the programme. The best case presentation overall will be awarded a prize.
