Amann Girrbach is known for its high-precision materials and cutting-edge solutions in digital dental prosthetics. At IDS 2025, the company is unveiling 15 innovations and dedicating part of its stand (Hall 1.2, Booth C040–D041) to its latest advancements in digital workflows in clinics and laboratories. We spoke with CEO Jürgen Kiesel about the future of the dental market and the company’s focus on digitalisation.
Mr Kiesel, you have now been CEO for over a year. What have been the highlights and challenges of your tenure so far? I have focused on expanding our market presence, fostering product innovation and addressing the rising demand for our solutions. This has meant ensuring that we are better equipped to support both dental practices and laboratories and maintaining our commitment to advancing the quality of oral care. Strategically, we have restructured our sales frameworks to align with global market dynamics and invested in partnerships to broaden our portfolio. In this area, we have drawn on our expertise in providing seamless workflows that can easily be adopted in dental practices and laboratories. Furthermore, we have made our range of consumable products more comprehensive and added all bleach colours and extra heights to our existing blanks. This means that we can fully meet the needs of our customers.
We have achieved significant growth in the US market by collaborating with global players such as Henry Schein and developing new strategic partnerships with global manufacturers.
What trends do you think will shape the future of the dental market, and how will Amann Girrbach adapt to them? Digitalisation in dentistry is causing a convergence of laboratory and practice workflows. Practices are increasingly capable of on-site restorations, necessitating solutions that cater to diverse user needs. Amann Girrbach is committed to providing modular, adaptable systems that facilitate seamless collaboration and ensure that both laboratories and practices are equipped for future advancements. Globally, dental support organisations and dental chains are growing. Amann Girrbach will accommodate for this change by creating dedicated teams and by providing an even wider variety of milling machines that can run non-stop. This capability is a game-changer, especially given the reduced availability of expert dental professionals in the labour market.
Digitalisation is a cornerstone of Amann Girrbach’s success. What role does it play in addressing industry challenges? Digital workflows address the dual challenges of a skilled labour shortage and rising patient expectations for quality dental restorations. By enabling efficient collaboration across locations and seamless integration into existing workflows in the dental clinic or laboratory, digital solutions enhance service reliability and patient outcomes. We know that dental practitioners are facing increasing pressure in the workplace, and digitalisation can help.
We continue to drive digital adoption through continuous innovation and strategic partnerships, advancing the capabilities of dental professionals worldwide. This will be exemplified at IDS 2025 through our showcase of flexible workflows that simplify daily tasks in the clinic or laboratory.
