BREA, Calif., US: Envista Holdings, a dental equipment and supplies manufacturing company, has recently announced the expansion of its leadership team. The company has appointed Robert Befidi as president of diagnostics, Suraj Satpathy as chief human resources officer and Andrew Chen as chief information officer.

Befidi joins Envista from 3M, an industry-leading oral care products provider, where he most recently was president of the separation and purification sciences division. He has also held several senior executive roles in the 3M healthcare business group, including leading global marketing, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and data security and compliance. Before 3M, Befidi worked in private equity, consulting, technology and investment banking research. He also co-founded Gordian Capital, a private equity company, where he led capital raising, deal origination, industry research, transaction structuring and portfolio management.

Satpathy joins Envista from Cepheid, a global diagnostics company owned by Danaher, where he most recently served as senior vice president of human resources and internal communications. Satpathy joined Cepheid in 2021 and supported the company’s hypergrowth by building its leadership capabilities and talent processes, shaping culture and scaling human resources (HR) infrastructure. Before joining Cepheid, Satpathy spent nearly 14 years at Gilead Sciences, where he held various HR leadership roles, including vice president of HR for Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Canada.

Chen joins Envista from Kite Pharma, an industry-leading cell therapy biotechnology company, where he most recently was chief information officer. Before joining Kite, Chen held senior leadership positions in information technology across multiple industries, including Seattle Genetics, AstraZeneca, JPMorgan Chase, DuPont and Bank of America. He brings over 30 years of experience in information technology and has spent the last 17 years working in the healthcare industry, spanning Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US.

The current president of Nobel Biocare, Patrik Eriksson, will leave the organisation on 31 December. Amir Aghdaei, the CEO of Envista, is working closely with the Nobel Biocare leadership team until a permanent successor is named.

“Envista and our customers will benefit from the leadership and expertise of Robert, Andrew and Suraj,” Aghdaei commented. He continued: “We intend to digitise, personalise and democratise oral care, and I am confident the expansion of our leadership capabilities with these individuals will further enhance our core values of customer centricity, innovation, respect, continuous improvement and leadership.” He added: “Furthermore, on behalf of the entire Envista team, I want to thank Patrik Eriksson for his more than 11 years of dedicated service to the company and our customers.”

The company also noted that an external search for a new incumbent for the chief financial officer position is underway.
