MADRID, Spain: IFEMA Madrid, the organisation responsible for hosting trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses in the Spanish capital, has recently held a launch event in which it announced the 18th edition of Expodental, scheduled to take place from 11 to 13 March 2026 at its exhibition complex. Organised in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (Fenin), the international trade fair for dental equipment, products and services will return with an enhanced focus on professional development. Additionally, the event will now be held midweek to support a better work-life balance for attendees and encourage greater participation from dental professionals.

The launch event was attended by nearly 100 professionals representing 80 leading dental companies and featured remarks from Arancha Priede Leza, general director of fair and congress business at IFEMA Madrid; Luis M. Garralda, president of the dental sector at Fenin; and Ana Rodríguez, director of Expodental. The speakers outlined key content areas and the ongoing strategy to broaden the fair’s international reach and representativeness, reaffirming its status as the main meeting point for dental professionals. Roberto Rosso, founder and president of the market research firm Key-Stone, also participated, offering an analysis of current trends in the dental market.

Expodental 2026: “The Road to Dental Innovation”

Under the theme “The Road to Dental Innovation”, Expodental 2026 aims to exceed the results of the 2024 edition, which featured 374 exhibitors, over 23,500 m² of net exhibition space and 30,000 dental professionals in attendance.

The upcoming event promises to return with renewed vigour and energy, introducing new initiatives designed to stimulate commercial exchange and strengthen the industry’s financial ecosystem. In a sector marked by constant evolution, the fair continues to position itself as both a national and international standard. The revised schedule—daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.—will contribute to a more dynamic and productive environment that encourages professional engagement and fosters networking.

There will be an area dedicated to the educational and management side of the dental industry, presenting undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous professional development opportunities. Participating institutions will include universities, training centres, scientific societies, professional associations and companies. The Training Area will also include an activity space and a dedicated Speakers’ Corner, where participating organisations can offer talks and presentations.

As in previous editions, Expodental will host a Student Day on Wednesday, 11 March. Fourth- and fifth-year dental students, as well as future dental hygienists and prosthetists, will have the opportunity to explore the event and gain exposure to the latest industry developments.

In addition to the trade exhibition, participating companies will showcase their latest innovations, treatments and technologies in the fair’s Speakers’ Corners, highlighting breakthroughs achieved in the past two years.

Space allocation for exhibitors will take place from 23 to 25 September at the IFEMA Madrid facilities. The deadline for submitting participation applications is Monday, 15 September.

Expodental LiveConnect

The event will once again feature Expodental LiveConnect, a digital platform designed to facilitate professional networking, schedule meetings and provide access to exclusive content. This tool enhances the in-person experience for both exhibitors and visitors by expanding engagement opportunities before, during and after the event.

Dental industry market

According to preliminary data from Fenin’s latest market report, the dental industry in Spain recorded a turnover of €1.15 billion in 2024—an increase of 1.8% compared with 2023.
