SCHAAN, Switzerland: Ivoclar Vivadent have recently released figures for their 2017 financial year. With a turnover of CHF 809 million and an increase of 4.5 per cent in sales compared to 2016, the most successful growth emerged from Latin America, China and Russia. Although pleased with the figures, CEO Robert Ganley noted that the positive trend is nothing new.
According to the report, products and systems focused on dental practices continued to be growth drivers, with direct restoratives and professional care growing at a combined rate of 7 per cent. Sales of restorative materials increased by around 4 per cent and the turnover of clinical accessories rose significantly to 27 per cent. Additionally, fixed prosthetics also showed considerable growth, with sales increasing by almost 6 per cent.
In addition to a growth in sales, Ivoclar Vivadent also grew in personnel. At the end of 2017 the company had a total of 3,596 full-time employees worldwide¾an increase of 129 positions. The new jobs were created in various subsidiaries and regions, including recent acquisitions.
In 2018, Ivoclar Vivadent will focus their efforts on the market expansion and development of digital technologies for the benefit of dentists and dental technicians. Commenting on the company’s digital direction, Ganley said, “As one of the recognised global leaders in aesthetic dental solutions, we are now driving the development of digital aesthetics. It is an exciting time to be in the dental industry.”
