CRACOW, Poland: Following current recommendations from state health institutions and after consultations with the director of the sanitary and epidemiological station in Cracow, as well as with the voivodeship’s department of security and crisis management, the organisers of KRAKDENT 2020 have decided to postpone the event to 28–30 May.
The international dental trade fair, which was scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 March in Cracow, is the largest dental exhibition in Poland and has over 15,000 visitors from all over the world. The organisers based their decision on the recommendation by the state sanitary inspectorate concerning the participation of visitors from abroad to cancel all conferences and medical events. This recommendation was included in the statement of the chief sanitary inspectorate with regard to medical professionals. In an appeal by the president of the Supreme Medical Council, organisers of all events that convene many participants were advised to cancel these. Furthermore, the organisers stated that a number of people had requested postponement of the show, among them a group of exhibitors.
In their official statement, the organisers emphasise that the “safety of our exhibitors and visitors is our priority. A week ago there was no indication that we would have to make that decision. In the face of circumstances that are beyond our control, the situation is serious enough and the decision about changing the dates is the best possible solution.”
