ROTTERDAM, Netherlands: The Oral Reconstruction (OR) Foundation has announced that the 2018 Oral Reconstruction Global Symposium will take place from 26 to 28 April in Rotterdam. Under the theme “The future of the art of implant dentistry”, the symposium will offer participants an outlook on implant dentistry and related fields, along with sessions dedicated to digital workflow and ceramic implants.
Programme highlights include presentations and hands-on workshops. In these, prominent speakers will use theory and practical exercises to teach small groups concepts relevant to current topics, such as 3-D planning, digital workflow, and treatment concepts for peri-implant complications.
The two-day conference will conclude with the emerging and provocative topic of complications and what dental professionals can learn from them. An expert round-table discussion will cover complex patient cases and present and evaluate solutions. The audience will also play an important role in this event, being able to direct questions or statements to the speakers at any time. A detailed programme, including all the speakers and times, is yet to be announced.
According to the OR Foundation, an app is in the making that will allow all participants to ask questions or make statements during the symposium, giving them the opportunity to play an active part in the event. Ahead of the symposium, attendees will be able to retrieve information through the app.
Held on 27 April, the Dutch national holiday of King’s Day will be celebrated during the event and participants will be able to enjoy the extensive cultural programme on offer.
The OR Foundation was originally established in 2006 as the CAMLOG Foundation by CAMLOG in Basel in Switzerland and relaunched in 2016 as the independent OR Foundation. Its US section was founded that same year. Earlier this year, its global symposium took place in Miami in the US and was attended by over 1,400 dental professionals from 42 countries.
More information about the Oral Reconstruction Global Symposium 2018 will soon be available at www.orfoundation.org. Registration starts in October 2017.
