HEIMSHEIM, Germany: The digital dentistry landscape is shifting. Patients increasingly expect restorations to be completed in a single visit, and practices that cannot meet this demand risk falling behind. Combined with the Rapid Print Kit accessory, Rapid Shape’s ONE 3D printer offers dental practices a validated chairside workflow for same-day treatment.
The Rapid Print Kit was designed for time-sensitive applications in daily dental practice. A compact build platform, paired with four small resin reservoirs, enables the printing of up to four crowns or a four-unit bridge in just 8 minutes. For splint production, the kit’s dedicated Crystal Polish Reservoir delivers vertically printed splints in approximately 60 minutes, and minimal polishing is required after post-processing. The kit’s small reservoir format helps reduce resin use, material waste and post-processing effort while supporting the accuracy and surface quality required for the finished appliance.
The Rapid Print Kit includes a compact build platform for producing restorations and splints, including up to four crowns or a four-unit bridge in just 8 minutes.
At the centre of the workflow is the ONE 3D printer. It offers 34 µm x–y accuracy, supports more than 15 dental indications and has been validated with over 50 premium dental resins from Rapid Shape and other leading manufacturers. This includes the entire RS VIVO dental resin line, covering key dental applications such as crowns, splints, bridges, surgical guides, trays and denture bases. Radio-frequency identification of materials ensures that the correct resin is loaded before each print run, helping reduce the risk of user error and supporting conformity to validated workflow parameters.
The ONE connects directly to the WASH unit for the automated two-step cycle of cleaning and drying and to the CURE unit, which delivers 360° light polymerisation in a vacuum-sealed chamber that can accommodate up to six full-arch restorations or splints simultaneously. The result is a reproducible process from digital design through to the finished appliance, requiring only minimal manual intervention at each stage.
Rapid Shape’s Print Studio slicing software completes the ecosystem. Integrating with leading CAD platforms such as exocad, Medit and 3Shape, it guides users from a finished digital design to a print-ready file in just a few steps. Print parameters are applied automatically, based on the selected material and build configuration, reducing the technical burden on clinical teams and the training effort for practices that are new to in-office 3D printing.
In combination, the ONE and Rapid Print Kit offer a compact solution for practices seeking to expand same-day restorative workflows without requiring a separate laboratory set-up or dedicated specialist staffing. The system is suitable for a standard treatment room, straightforward to operate and scalable as case volumes grow.
Whether used for an urgent single-unit crown case or as part of a broader shift towards fully digital workflows, the ONE and Rapid Print Kit are designed to support reliable and efficient chairside production. The ONE is available through authorised Rapid Shape distributors worldwide. More information can be found at rapidshape3d.com.
