COLOGNE, Germany: Sustainable oral health is achieved not only through the use of high-quality products but especially through knowledge and correct use. Curaden is driven by this conviction—and it is precisely for this reason that the iTOP Auditorium is being showcased at IDS for the first time. It is a place that brings education to life: in interactive talks, practical demonstrations and direct dialogue with experts.

The name of the auditorium is no coincidence: iTOP—individually trained oral prophylaxis—is a leading programme in this field. Recognised worldwide, this training concept enables dental professionals to provide patients with tailored coaching and to raise their awareness of atraumatic oral care. After all, prevention is the future of dentistry—and Curaden is flying the flag with its establishment of iTOP.

Interactive talk: “Soft is strong” in practice

The talks focus on the crucial role of atraumatic oral care in maintaining healthy teeth and gingivae. Curaden is impressively demonstrating why “soft is strong” makes all the difference—because soft, dense bristles clean thoroughly without damaging the gingival tissue and in doing so contribute to long-term oral health—especially in interdental cleaning.

One highlight at the booth is the presentation of the Curaprox measuring probe, which enables precise interdental care by determining exactly the right brush size for each interdental space—a real eye-opener for dentists and patients alike. This knowledge is essential for effective and individual oral hygiene.

“With a manual toothbrush or normal electric toothbrush, we can clean around 70% of tooth surfaces. But only with interdental brushes that are appropriate and fit each dental space can we actually clean 100% of the dental surfaces and thereby achieve perfect oral home care,” said Ludwig Popp, manager for Germany at Curaden.

Experience live education: The highlights at the Curaden booth

At its stand, Curaden is bringing knowledge to life, and the company is inviting IDS visitors to rediscover oral hygiene at the company booth. Held in the iTOP Auditorium, brief talks with direct practical relevance convey valuable knowledge in a compact and clear form. Visitors have the opportunity to experience hands-on why “soft is strong” stands for gentle and thorough cleaning—and will receive a toothbrush for this purpose at the stand. In addition, experienced iTOP trainers and other dental professionals are available for one-to-one dialogue.

“At the end of the day, any oral care cleaning device is a tool. In order to use a tool perfectly, we need to learn how it works and how to use it properly. It is our opinion that dental professionals of the future will be health coaches, guiding and instructing their patients to achieve the best oral healthcare possible. For that, we have our iTOP educational programme, helping, supporting and training dental professionals to assist their patients in that journey,” Popp stated. “The feedback on our auditorium so far has been great, and there has been considerable interest in further training,” he concluded.

Curaden is making a clear statement with its innovative stand concept. The future of dentistry lies in prevention, personalised advice and correct application—for sustainable oral health worldwide.
