COLOGNE, Germany: The International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne will once again bring together dental professionals from all around the world. The Finnish dental manufacturer Planmeca will be exhibiting a vast range of digital innovations and new products and will also host a number of presentations by internationally renowned lecturers at its booth at IDS 2019.

The company’s concept of a completely digital workflow centres on the unique Planmeca Romexis software platform, which ties together all of Planmeca’s devices and software to meet the imaging requirements of any dental facility. The many advanced features of this intelligent all-in-one software platform forms the basis of all of Planmeca’s presentations at IDS 2019.

Drs Zach Evans and Omar Hamid will use clinical cases to present the complete digital workflow for implant treatment. In addition, Dr Walter Renne will guide attendees through various digital workflow cases, such as 3-D printed smile design mock-ups. With these presentations, attendees will be able to learn how to go through all the necessary steps easily, from scanning and CBCT imaging to designing and manufacturing, using Planmeca equipment and software.

Dr Anthony Mennito will also be at Planmeca’s booth in Cologne. He will present a clinical case to demonstrate how dental professionals can improve clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction through CAD/CAM-assisted same-day restorations. In addition, Dr Gary Severance and registered dental assistant Angela Severance will be on hand to show how easy it is to scan, plan and choose a preferred way of working with Planmeca Romexis.

The area of diagnostics has not been forgotten either. Prof. Michael Bornstein, of the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Dentistry, will shed light on low radiation dose imaging procedures in CBCT imaging. Bornstein will explain how low-dose protocols have changed modern dentistry and what it means for the day-to-day work of a dental practice.

The full programme of Planmeca’s presentations at IDS 2019 includes other current topics in digital dentistry. The presentations are organised to commence every 30 minutes, starting at 9:30 a.m. on each day of the exhibition.

In addition to these presentations, IDS 2019 attendees can try out virtual reality implant planning at Planmeca’s booth and learn more about the company’s products and how they make modern digital dentistry possible.
