SYDNEY, Australia: To encourage the improvement of the oral and general health of the public is one of the Australian Dental Association’s (ADA’s) three core objectives. In line with this commitment, the ADA has released a new website for oral health information for the public, Teeth.org.au.
All the content on the website has been thoroughly researched and peer-reviewed and references high-quality studies and information to support the topic under discussion. The website contains articles on recent oral health issues, tips and tools for oral hygiene, information about common (and uncommon) treatments, and more. It also provides a tool to search for a dentist, so prospective patients can easily find help when they need it.
In a statement, dentist and ADA Oral Health Promoter Dr Mikaela Chinotti said that dental professionals benefit from the platform too: “The content on Teeth.org.au will be frequently reviewed with new content uploaded regularly. A focus is placed on content readability to improve consumer oral health literacy for improved ability to care for their oral health and access dental care. In addition to the information, you can provide to your patients within the clinical environment, you can reliably refer your patients to Teeth.org.au for further information that is presented as clear and concise written content as well as video and audio.”
“Dental practitioners can include links to articles in their email blasts and other forms of digital contact with patients. Further, the Find-A-Dentist search tool allows consumers to find an ADA member dentist,” she added.
