KOBLACH, Austria: Amann Girrbach has announced that Jürgen Kiesel will take over the position of CEO at the company on 14 August. Kiesel, who has held several leadership positions in the medical and dental industries over the past two decades, succeeds Dr Wolfgang Reim, who will continue to serve as a member of Amann Girrbach’s supervisory board.
Kiesel said that he is looking forward to his new responsibility at Amann Girrbach. He outlined the central elements of his strategy, notably maintaining a strong customer focus through ongoing innovative product developments and expanding the business internationally.

“In addition to focusing on product innovation, in which my predecessor Wolfgang Reim played a leading role, my main focus will be on further expanding our market presence. In recent years, Amann Girrbach has succeeded like no other dental company in advancing the digital workflow and as a consequence the interdisciplinary collaboration between the dental laboratory, practice laboratory and dental practice. I am absolutely convinced that Amann Girrbach’s products and solutions are of the highest relevance for dentists and dental technicians and will play an increasingly important role in the international dental market. Therefore, growth internationally as well as in our core markets will form an elementary part of my strategy,” Kiesel explained.
He added: “My more than 20 years of experience within the medical technology industry will help me achieve these goals. We will continue to expand relationships with our partners and further strengthen our presence in the market to even better meet the different needs of dentists and dental technicians in the future.”
Kiesel has a proven track record in the medical and dental industries. Over the past four years, he successfully led optimed Medizinische Instrumente, a specialised medical technology supplier. In 2011, he became the CEO of FONA Dental, a high-tech dental equipment company that is part of the Dentsply Sirona Group. He earlier held key positions at Sirona Dental Systems, driving sales and growth in central and southern Europe while serving as general manager in Spain.
Dr Reim, who initially assumed the role of CEO of Amann Girrbach on an interim basis in January 2020, is retiring from the management board of the company. He is moving to the supervisory board, through which he will continue to support Amann Girrbach with his expertise. Under the management of Dr Reim, Amann Girrbach achieved substantial growth in the laboratory business and expanded further into the dental practice market. Driven by a commitment to a holistic digital workflow, he positioned Amann Girrbach as a trailblazer in the global digital dental prostheses segment.
