SINGAPORE: The Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) Congress (AOSC) has grown into the largest orthodontic event in the Asia Pacific region. In 2019, it has surpassed previous figures, with sold-out workshops, an expanded exhibition space and record-breaking registration numbers. This important occasion for congress will this year take place at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore from 22 to 24 February.

The increase in the number of registrations indicated greater demand and thus necessitated an expansion of the event space and number of exhibitors. Twenty-nine exhibiting companies, including Biolux, Henry Schein and Invisalign, representing over 100 brands, are set to participate, marking a 20 per cent growth in the brands represented.

Attendees can look forward to eight pre- and post-congress workshops and an exciting three-day conference programme covering a wide variety of orthodontic topics, including prominent keynote speakers, such as Drs David Sarver, Birte Melsen and Rolf Behrents. “This year’s congress aims to provide attendees with valuable knowledge, ideas and new perspectives to help dental professionals decode, discover and transform their orthodontic practice,” shared Dr Mohan Senathirajah, President of the Association of Orthodontists (Singapore).

The AOSC 2019 committee has also announced several new initiatives, including a tour of the new facilities of the National University Centre for Oral Health Singapore. In addition, the association has committed to giving back to society by raising funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation through this year’s congress. “As an association, besides enhancing the knowledge and skills of our community and peers, we also aim to create a positive impact in society. Through a series of activities organised, including an exclusive movie screening and a charity car drive, we hope that more awareness for childhood cancer can be raised,” explained Dr Seow Yian San, chairperson of the AOSC 2019 organising committee.

Hosted in iconic Singapore spaces, the welcome programme includes an evening reception at the S.E.A. Aquarium, which houses the world’s largest marine life glass viewing panel. Participants can again do the 2 km signature run along the Gardens by the Bay before the congress programme starts on the second day.

Conference and exhibition tickets are still available online here. On-site registration will be available from 21 February onwards at Level 4 at Marina Bay Sands. Further information on the AOSC can be found at www.aoscongress.com.
