LOS ANGELES, U.S.: In many ways it seems as though the increasingly popular wellness industry has influenced some people to put activities such as yoga and meditation before their oral health. In a partial response to this and to help turn a visit to the dentist from a hassle into an easy and enjoyable experience, Futuredontics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dentsply Sirona, has recently announced the launch of Dentistry.com in the U.S.
Unveiled at Dentsply Sirona World 2018 on Sept. 13 in Orlando, Florida, U.S., the platform’s main purpose is to build better relationships between dentists and patients. It features a search engine for patients that supports filtering by a number of criteria, including insurance networks, and hosts a comprehensive directory of dental practices across the country.
“People live and conduct all their business on their phones today. Dentistry is challenged because it has not embraced this new mobile-centric reality. Complicating things is the fact that consumers don’t value dentistry as they do more trendy healthcare pursuits like yoga and meditation,” said Brian McCarthy, Executive Vice President of Futuredontics. “Dentistry.com is the online destination where the industry can band together to elevate the perception of dentistry to its proper place in healthcare.”
Dentists who join the Dentistry.com community will be able to list information about themselves and their practice, and other relevant details that would assist patients in their search for a dentist. According to Futuredontics, the platform also offers access to national and local audiences, improves website search engine optimization, and helps dentists connect with more new patients by listing services, insurance plans, business hours and more.
In the near future, Dentistry.com will unveil more features, including appointment booking directly from the site and better practice management system integrations to simplify profile management.
“Dentistry.com is the only one-stop platform that provides patients with everything they need to know to make informed decisions about their oral health,” said Todd Daum, Futuredontics Senior Vice President of Marketing.
