DUBAI, UAE: Ahead of the opening of this year’s UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai), the Dubai World Dental Meeting (DWDM) preconference courses got under way yesterday and continue today. Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Novotel World Trade Centre Dubai, the programme offers focused, hands-on education across key areas of contemporary dentistry.

Designed to combine scientific evidence with practical application, the DWDM preconference courses feature interactive workshops delivered by internationally recognised experts. Around 150 dental professionals are participating, creating an environment that supports clinical exchange and professional development.

Following yesterday’s session on skeletal anchorage with interradicular mini-screws, the programme continues today with a second orthodontic course focusing on shape memory aligners, addressing biomechanics, material properties and clinical efficiency. Participants also have the opportunity to attend courses in oral implantology, restorative dentistry and paediatric dentistry.

The oral implantology course explores pterygoid implants and osseodensification techniques, with an emphasis on improving primary stability and optimising clinical outcomes. In restorative dentistry, participants receive practical training in dental adhesives as well as anterior and posterior direct restorations. The paediatric dentistry course addresses recent innovations and evidence-based approaches, with a focus on managing complex cases in primary and early permanent teeth.
