LEIPZIG, Germany: CBCT imaging has become part of the armamentarium in dental practices across Sweden. An increasing number of implant specialists too are using the technology for highly accurate 3-D images of anatomical variation and pathology to ensure successful implant placement. In an upcoming free Kavo Academy live webinar, Dr Razminive Shahnavaz will demonstrate the advantages of CBCT for implant surgery, diagnostics, planning, preparation and treatment. The webinar will be held in Swedish.

This dental webinar is based on the presenter’s 12 years of experience with CBCT, guided surgery and navigation surgery. CBCT imaging has become an essential part of implantology owing to its high-resolution 3-D images that greatly contribute to diagnosis, planning, treatment and follow-up. CBCT enables better, simpler and less risky implant planning, both aesthetically and functionally. By means of CBCT, it is possible to perform minimally invasive surgery, which in turn shortens treatment time, reduces costs and gives the patient high-quality care with optimal precision.

Shahnavaz introduced SIMPLANT guided surgery for implantology to Sweden. He has more than 20 years of experience in implantology and guided surgery, has trained more than 500 dentists in using this technique and prepared approximately 1,000 surgical guides. Shahnavaz is also among the most experienced CBCT users in Sweden and has been following the rapid development of 3-D imaging technology closely. He has a profound understanding of the advantages of CBCT in dentistry. Shahnavaz is also the owner and responsible clinician of the Swedish Dental private practice in Stockholm.

The Swedish webinar, titled “Tio år med CBCT och guidad kirurgi” [Ten years of CBCT and guided surgery], will be broadcast live on 10 June at 6 p.m. (CEST). Swedish-speaking dental professionals interested in attending the course may register online here. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed. The webinar is part of the KaVo Academy platform.
