SINGAPORE: According to Dr Wong Li Beng, modern air polishing devices are becoming increasingly significant in the context of preventative and even aesthetic maintenance therapy. In a free Dental Tribune Study Club webinar on Saturday, 3 August, Beng will be discussing this and today’s concept for prophylaxis to update clinicians on the latest changes and technical advancements in this regard.
Beng believes that it is important that dental professionals are kept abreast of progress in an evidence-based approach. During the webinar, he will address the treatment philosophy and the science behind air polishing. He will also introduce the concept of Guided Biofilm Therapy, a prophylactic, selective, individualised systematic treatment which can be applied to the everyday practice.
Boasting substantial experience, Beng is the Director of Preventive Dentistry in the Department of Dentistry at JurongHealth Campus, and a consultant and periodontist at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre in Singapore. He also lectures in the oral health therapy programme at Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore and is a clinical lecturer in the undergraduate programme at the National University of Singapore. His areas of expertise are within periodontal medicine, soft-tissue and aesthetic surgery, and peri-implantitis management.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “NO PAIN for everyone—The modern prophylaxis concept of today”, will be broadcast live on Saturday, 3 August, at 2 p.m.SGT. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
