ZAGREB, Croatia: From 21 to 23 September, the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD) is holding its 14th annual meeting in Zagreb. The congress will see top international speakers lecturing on the latest developments in the fields of aesthetic dentistry, implantology, periodontics, prosthodontics and CAD/CAM technology. The diverse scientific programme will be complemented by hands-on courses and a poster session, and visitors can look forward to a range of entertaining social events. Attendees wanting to take advantage of an early bird discount can register online until 15 June.

“If you are a dentist, dental technician or dentistry student, I invite you to attend the ESCD meeting in Zagreb,” said ESCD President Dr Florin Lăzărescu. “World-class speakers will be presenting from two main podiums and in two parallel hands-on sessions over three days.”

This year’s congress, to be held at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel under the theme “Heart of Esthetics”, will officially be opened during a ceremony on 21 September at 2 p.m. The daily social events include the President Dinner, this year at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, and a guided tour through Zagreb, followed by a local dinner.

Founded in 2003 by a group of practising dentists, dental technicians and academics at different universities from all over Europe, the ESCD (formerly the European Society of Esthetic Dentistry) was established in response to growing public interest in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry and to the corresponding need of European dental practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field.

The host city offers a wide variety of things to do during the day or at night. In addition to theatres, museums and galleries, the capital of Croatia has a vibrant nightlife, with reportedly some of the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the northern part of the country.

Registration for the ESCD meeting is now open. Special discounts apply for early bird registration until 15 June. Detailed information on the meeting, as well as prices and registration forms, can be found on the congress website, www.heartofesthetics.eu.
