HELSINKI, Finland: The American Dental Association’s prestigious Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) has approved the Nordic Institute of Dental Education (NIDE). It is the first education provider in the Nordic countries to receive the recognition, which will be valid from 1 May.

“We believe that the ADA CERP recognition will be strongly valued by our customers, as they highly appreciate the quality of education. The rigorous review process by ADA has helped us to further strengthen our processes and management systems. This recognition is clear evidence of our competence,” said Jenni Pajunen, CEO of NIDE.

Founded in 2014, NIDE is a joint venture of Finnish dental manufacturer Planmeca and the University of Turku. The institute specialises in high-quality continuing education courses for dental professionals, covering topics such as 3-D and CAD/CAM, as well as aesthetic, restorative and adhesive dentistry.

In addition to its versatile standard course selection, NIDE offers custom-made courses for larger groups, as well as tailored postgraduate curriculum programmes. “Digital dentistry is revolutionising the work of dental professionals—we exist to help them adapt to the latest trends and technologies,” Pajunen said.

The University of Turku awards European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits and certificates to all NIDE course participants. To date, NIDE has hosted dental professionals from 15 countries.

“It is wonderful that the quality of our education export company has been recognised by such an esteemed programme. This is very a significant step for the NIDE brand and its international growth potential,” remarked Prof. Kalervo Väänänen, Rector of the University of Turku.

Overall, about 500 providers of continuing dental education have been approved through the ADA CERP National Recognition Program or the Extended Approval Process worldwide.
