Dr Nikos Mattheos

Dr Nikos Mattheos is a periodontist and academic specialising in implant dentistry. He is academic director of the international MSc programme in implant and aesthetic dentistry and visiting professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok in Thailand. He is also honorary professor of periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Hong Kong in China and an affiliate researcher in the Department of Dental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm in Sweden. In addition, he maintains a private practice in Hong Kong limited to periodontics and implant rehabilitation. Dr Mattheos has published extensively in the field of implant dentistry, focusing on computer-assisted implant surgery. He has also contributed to the development of virtual learning environments and online dental education. He co-founded CyberSmile, a training centre for digital dentistry, navigated surgery, robotics and artificial intelligence integration that opened in Hong Kong earlier this year.
