HELSINKI, Finland: In seeking to strengthen Planmeca’s management and to support its distribution business, the Finland-based company has recently announced the appointment of Janne Anttila to head the Plandent Division in Scandinavia and northern Europe. Anttila has worked for Plandent in Finland for over ten years, leading the company for the past eight.

As part of the role, Anttila will now be overseeing operations in Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden. He will be reporting to Planmeca Group Senior Vice President Tuomas Lokki, who in turn will continue to report to Planmeca Group President Heikki Kyöstilä.

“The reason for this reorganisation is to strengthen the Planmeca Group management and especially to provide more resources for the development of our growing distribution business,” said Lokki.

Speaking to Dental Tribune Online, Anttila said, “Our aim is to continue to strengthen the cooperation with our subsidiaries. The continuing business consolidation and changes in the market are gradually breaking down national barriers, and our business is becoming more and more European. So, we are reacting to this change through the reorganisation of our management. Naturally, the whole Planmeca Group together with the Plandent Division will continue to be led by our Founder and President Heikki Kyöstilä.”

As part of the reorganisation, Viki Valanne has been appointed to lead the Plandent business in Finland, taking over the position from Anttila. Valanne has been working as Sales Director for Plandent in Finland for the past four years.
