Clinical professionals can look forward to three upcoming implantology webinars in March, April and May. Presented by dental implant manufacturer Neodent, the lectures will offer knowledge about peri-implant tissue maintenance, the evolution of conical connections and benefits of surface treatments and will provide the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
The Neodent Discovery series starts in two days with a presentation by Dr Ricardo Kern, a specialist in implantology and periodontics who is based in Brazil, and Dr Sérgio R. Bernardes, head of new product development and clinical practice at Neodent. They will discuss techniques to support clinicians in managing peri-implant tissue. A special focus will be peri-implant tissue reconstruction in the aesthetic area and how the implant design of the abutment–implant system can be helpful in tissue reconstruction surgery.
The webinar, titled “Neodent Discovery: Clinical insights for peri-implant tissues maintenance in prosthetic rehabilitation”, will be broadcast live on Thursday, 25 March, at 6 p.m. CET.
Make the connection
Owing to its mechanical and biological impact, the implant–abutment connection has an important influence on the clinical outcome of an implant system. A webinar by Prof. Carlos Araújo from the University of São Paulo in Brazil and Bernardes will provide dental professionals with clinical and scientific evidence on the evolution of internal conical connections. Their clinical advantages will be discussed, and viewers will learn about research findings that validate peri-implant tissue behaviour at internal conical connections.
Araújo and Bernardes’ webinar, titled “Neodent Discovery—the evolution and benefits of internal conical connections”, will be broadcast live on Wednesday, 28 April, at 7 p.m. CET.
Choose the right surface
A great deal of research is being conducted on implant surfaces, as the right surface properties may promote osseointegration and lead to an earlier secondary stability and thus accelerate the loading protocol. In this webinar, Dr Rubens Moreno from the Latin American Dental Research and Teaching Institute in Curitiba in Brazil and Bernardes will demonstrate the benefits of surface treatment in daily practice. Viewers will learn about the indications for hydrophilic implant surfaces and about immediate loading, regenerative processes and complex situations with regard to implants with active surfaces.
Dental professionals can watch the webinar, titled “Neodent Discovery—surface treatment and its benefits to daily practice”, live on Thursday, 27 May, at 7 p.m. CET.
Attendance of all webinars is free of charge after easy online registration on the Straumann Campus. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit for each webinar by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
